WEDDING FLOWERS: SPRING
With Spring around the corner, we thought we'd share some of our favourite seasonal flowers for the Springtime bride!
This delicate-looking flower with cascading ruffles, is both beautiful and versatile, coming in almost any colour you could imagine: yellow, white, gold, a variety of pastels, pink, red, sunset orange, and bicoloured picotee.
There is something quite poetic about anemones, with their dark black centres. Anemones are perfect for adding subtle drama and interest to bridal bouquets. They are available in a range of colours, from creams to pinks to reds, to purples to blues.
LILY OF THE VALLEY
Lily of the valley is a popular flower for weddings because of its sweet perfume . Lily of the Valley was featured in the bridal bouquet at the Wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Even Princess Grace Kelly chose lily of the valley for her bridal bouquet.
Cymbidium orchids are a beautiful, luxurious choice for a wedding flower in a bridal bouquet. They also make very luxurious looking corsages and some brides will put one or two in their hair. Cymbidium orchids are most commonly found in shades of pink, white, yellow,cream, green, and dark burnt red.
The cherry blossom is an elegant pillowy, pink and white bloom that captures the season of Spring perfectly! We love how the cherry blossom has been depicted in this wedding cake:
Muscari are also known as "Grape Hyacinth" and features a cluster of bulbs that have a balloon or grape-like appearance. It's a fragrant flower with a striking blue colour, which looks fabulous in a wedding bouquet or boutonniere.
Tulips are a favorite flower for weddings because of their beautiful simplicity. They are pretty both bunched tight or free and arching. Tulips come in almost every imaginable colour - yellow, orange, red, white, cream, purple, pink, to name but a few!
The paperwhite narcissus flower is a stunningly beautiful spring-blooming bulb, slightly smaller than a daffodil with pretty white petals.
